We are currently seeking a Value, Access and Policy Sr. Manager - Repatha to support all aspects of the planning, design, execution and monitoring of the European Pricing & Access Strategy for the assigned brand and as well support price governance in France, Germany, Italy, Spain (+ Portugal) and the UK (+ Ireland). The role reports to the Value & Access Director, in the VA&P Europe organization with dotted line responsibilities to the Commercial Therapy Area Lead / Brand Director. Other accountabilities include the Regional Pricing Committee for supporting the assessment of price change requests from EU-5 for the assigned brand.

Activities and Deliverables:

Payer insights and strategy formulation:

  • Collects targeted primary payer insights (through affiliate consultation, secondary sources, primary payer research and advisory boards) to inform VA&P strategy

  • Maintains accurate and up to date competitive pricing and access insights for the region

  • Contributes to the European perspective that informs Global VA&P deliverables, such as the value story / payer value proposition, Global Value Dossier, launch sequence and Global Pricing Policy

VA&P Brand deliverables:

  • Delivers parts of the European Access Plan for the brand (e.g value story, health economics, policy, pricing, and communication elements), as well as the Country Pricing Policy

  • Responsible for early strategic alignment with affiliates' HTA strategy

  • Rolls-out the Managed Entry Agreements and contracting guidance; trains affiliates on execution through the implementation of mock negotiation workshops

  • Develops, in conjunction with VAP Director and relevant cross-function teams and rolls-out VA&P Communication tools to support affiliate access at regional and account level

  • Key point of contact with Brand Product Managers ensuring payer and access perspective is included in brand deliverables

VA&P matrix leadership:

  • Supports EU VA&P Director team and member of the core EU VA&P team (GHE, HTA CoE, Modelling CoE, Policy and Regional Access leads) to ensure aligned and integrated access readiness for launch or expansion of indications in Europe

  • Organizes and leads VA&P meetings/TCs/workshops with select affiliates to provide guidance and support in the definition of local reimbursement and HTA strategies for launch or new indications

  • Aligns with Policy CoE to ensure that Brand Access plans are supported by well-articulated policy objectives, and contribute to cross-functional implementation at regional and country level

  • Works with the HTA CoE and the brand cross-functional team to support launch and submission optimization within Europe

  • Works with Global pricing and contracting to ensure

Pricing Governance:

  • Contributes to the end to end assessment of affiliate business cases for price changes in France, Germany, Italy, Spain (+ Portugal) and UK (+ Ireland), including alignment with strategy, alignment with pricing policy and regional pricing band, assessment of IRP / other cross-border risks and financials / P&L impact of different scenarios

  • Provides support as needed to Sub-regional Access leads in developing non-EU5 affiliate business cases ensuring alignment with brand EU VA&P strategy

Innovation:

  • Drives implementation of innovative payer schemes that meet both the payer's and Amgen's needs, supporting Amgen's efforts to advance Value Based Healthcare

  • Continuously looks for ways to differentiate beyond price, leveraging new data to improve access, or lift restrictions, supporting product enhancements, new indications and differentiation strategy

REQUIREMENTS (Competencies/ Qualifications/ Experience):

  • Doctorate degree and 5 years of directly-related experience; or Master's degree and 8 years of directly-related experience; or Bachelor's degree and 9 years of directly related experience

  • Solid market access and pricing background

  • Prior regional or global experience in pharmaceutical value and access or commercial teams

  • Ability to work successfully in a cross-functional team, including interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and succeed in a highly matrixed environment

  • Ability to think creatively, champion ideas, take decisions, and focus on results

  • Excellent communication skills, strong oral/written presentation skills
