Amgen Human Resources Director, Rhode Island / Massachusetts in West Greenwich, Rhode Island
This position will lead the Human Resources activities in Rhode Island and Woburn, Mass. in support of Manufacturing Operations. This senior level position reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources, Manufacturing in Thousand Oaks, California with a dotted line to the VP site head in Rhode Island. You will also be a member of the Site's Manufacturing Leadership Team.
Work with the ED Manufacturing HR to develop the HR strategy, ensuring it fully aligns with the overall business strategy for Amgen. Design and develop HR strategies and priorities which are aligned with short-term and long-term company, function and site goals. Partner with business leadership teams to define a vision that drives innovation, growth and employee engagement.
Identify critical capability needs and partner with stakeholders to develop appropriate strategies to strengthen the organization.
Lead the HR strategy and execution as part of the build of the newly announced manufacturing plant in Rhode Island.
Shape and lead organizational effectiveness for client group(s) including organizational design and workforce planning.
Shape and foster a high performing and highly engaged culture. Lead talent management processes to strengthen leadership pipeline. Ensure alignment with Amgen's diversity and inclusion initiatives. Partner with leaders to acquire, develop, engage and retain talent. Ensure talent management and succession planning activities for client groups for purpose of identifying leadership gaps and solutions.
Lead large scale change by partnering and collaborating with leader's cross-functionally and across sites.
Direct the performance management, recruitment, employee relations, training & development, and succession planning processes.
Collaborate and act as a leader and strong partner across the manufacturing and overall operations HR network, HR Centers of Excellence, and broader HR organization.
Direct management of HR Manager and indirect management of HR team members including staffing, staff relations and support staff.
Mentor and coach others to ensure project success and continued development and improvement of organization.
Doctorate degree and 4 years of Human Resources experience
Master's degree and 7 years of Human Resources experience
Bachelor's degree and 9 years of Human Resources experience
Master's degree or MBA
10+ years of experience in Human Resources handling complex issues in a fast paced, rapidly changing, high technical or pharmaceutical biotech environment
7+ year's supervisory experience
Broad understanding of and appreciation for all human resources components
