Amgen Training & Development Manager (New Hire Sales Training Manager) - Oncology in Thousand Oaks, California

The Sales Training Manager will be responsible for:

  • Planning, coordinating and executing new hire sales training (Phases 1-3) and ongoing clinical, business acumen and selling skills training for assigned Oncology Business Unit (OBU) products. Establishing metrics and assessments to measure performance.

  • Translating national brand plans and tactics into training curricula/content for new-hire training and for semester meetings.

  • Developing and facilitating workshops at semester meetings for assigned brands.

  • Assisting in the development and updating of training modules, training assessments and role-play scenarios.

  • Facilitating the Medical, Legal and Regulatory review of new-hire training materials and maintain approvals of these materials.

  • Preparing, managing and facilitating new-hire training classes in coordination with Sales leadership, brand teams, internal presenters and guest trainers.

  • Managing Regional Sales Trainer (RST)/Clinical Sales Trainer (CST) program. Maintaining guest-trainer schedule.

  • Providing learner feedback to sales management with recommendations for follow-up coaching.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 2 years of training and/or sales and/or marketing experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of training and/or sales and/or marketing experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of training and/or sales and/or marketing experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of training and/or sales and/or marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

4+ years of biotech or pharmaceutical oncology selling experience.

2+ years of training experience.

Demonstrate strong oncology clinical knowledge, understanding of the PERFORMANCE4 selling model and good business acumen.

Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and presentation/facilitation skills.

Able to leverage and build cross-matrix relationships.

Demonstrate good organizational and project management skills.

Documented ability to consistently achieve or exceed sales goals.
