Amgen Strategy and Operational Excellence Supply Chain​ Senior Manager in Thousand Oaks, California

The Strategy and Operational Excellence Supply Chain​ Senior Manager for the Intercontinental Region will have responsibility for following objectives:

*Advance the Intercontinental Region Supply Chain strategy to achieve an optimal learning model and governance aligned with business strategy to maximize individual talent and organizational capability.

*Drive a culture of Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement by designing, implementing and sustaining operational excellence and business process modeling methodologies in the Intercontinental Supply Chain organization.

*Mature the Supply Chain Analytics capabilities to analyze supply chain scenarios supporting decision making and measure supply chain performance

Specific Tasks:

STRATEGY

  • Formulation and implementation of Regional Strategy

  • Support the Goals definition and measurement process

  • Ensure strategic partnership with key functions: Quality, Finances, IS

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE (OE)

  • Leads and ensure completion OE/FTO improvement initiatives across the IC SC region

  • Represents IC SC region on OE cross-functional initiatives ensuring alignment GSC OE team

  • Lead the implementation of the Integrated Business Planning process integrating the processes, systems and the people to maximize the customer value experience and drive business growth as part of the Supply Chain Segmentation program for the LACAN Sub Region while establishing strong collaboration with the rest of the Intercontinental Region

  • Provide guidance and expertise in the development of monthly reporting dashboards

  • Provide expertise and support to the harmonization of metrics initiatives

  • Ensures implementation of OE initiatives across the region by defining a carry out plan with the key stakeholders. Ensure that full visibility of project resources and progress in maintained

  • Ensure that IC SC strategy is implemented and tracked through the year

  • Communicate confidently and effectively information, analytics and recommendations to management and stakeholders

  • Provide expertise in the solution to complex problems during project management execution.

CHIEF OF STAFF

  • Assist the Executive Director ED in facilitating decision making

  • Coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives

  • Assess requirements directed to the ED, determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual to manage

  • Supports the communications framework for the region with the different stakeholders

Travel: Position requires 20 to 30% international travel

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Supply Chain experience

OR

Master degree and 4 years of Supply Chain experience

OR

Bachelor degree and 6 years of Supply Chain experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Supply Chain experience

OR

High School Diploma/GED and 12 years of Supply Chain experience

Preferred Qualifications:

* Fluency in English: written and oral. Fluency in Spanish is a significant plus.

  • Managerial experience of direct reports and ability to navigate in a matrix environment

  • Good understanding of GMP and pharmaceutical regulations

  • Experience in working in a global environment, ability to liaise/communicate effectively at different management levels

  • Ability to liaise/communicate effectively and easily with cross-functional teams and different cultures

  • 5 years of Supply Chain and Operational Excellence experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sector

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration

  • Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain business processes (Integrated Business Planning, SCOR, S&OP, Logistics, Customer Service)

  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen

  • Ability to develop insightful strategies based on knowledge of external and internal operating environments

  • Ability to analyze abstract and complex problems requiring evaluation of intangible variables

  • Ability to develop innovative and creative output based on interpretation and analysis

  • Demonstrated success in Operational Excellence and major change management initiatives

  • Awareness of biopharmaceutical commercial and supply chain trends and developments

  • Strong internal and external network relations
