Amgen Sr. Project Manager - Medical Affairs in Thousand Oaks, California

For decades we've been delivering essential supportive care therapies for oncology patients and we believe the best is yet to come - and we need your help! We are seeking an experience, Sr. Project Manager to join our team and support our efforts in oncology.

Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Lead annual development of cross-functional strategic plans, in consultation with key stakeholders

  • Partner with other regional & cross-functional (eg, Commercialization teams) SPMs to ensure alignment of plans

  • Partner with regional medical teams to ensure alignment of Global & regional plans

  • Drive successful and timely completion of cross-functional deliverables

  • Lead goal setting and metrics development (and subsequent tracking) in partnership with team lead

  • Conduct annual budget planning with team lead; manage budget on periodic basis in partnership with budget management team

  • Contribute to team effectiveness through facilitating chartering activities & resolution of team dynamic issues in partnership with team leads

  • Identify team and program risks and implement and manage mitigation plans as needed (eg, budget, timelines)

  • Drive effective decision making within the team, including communication of decisions to appropriate stakeholders

Communication

  • Provide direction & guidance to cross-functional team members to ensure global & regional alignment of strategy and deliverables

  • Communicate goal progress through dashboard updates

Team Operations

  • Manage cross-functional team meetings

  • Identify, escalate, and monitor resolution of issues & action items

  • Support onboarding of new cross-functional team members

  • Manage platform for information-sharing

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Affairs experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of Medical Affairs experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Medical Affairs experience

OR

Associates degree and 10 years of Medical Affairs experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Medical Affairs experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA., Master's Degree

  • Project Management, operational and/or technical expertise in the biopharmaceutical industry

  • Experience developing and executing (and improve if needed) a complex process

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, ability to use work process, briefing and spreadsheet software

  • Proven excellence in managing multiple responsibilities, priorities and tasks with minimal direction

  • Proven excellence in operating in a matrixed or team environment

  • Successful at managing a high-volume of projects simultaneously while consistently delivering quality end-product

  • Excellence communicating and collaborating across various parts of the organization and at various management levels (Finance, R&D, Compliance)

  • Experience successfully leading teams in a matrix environment
