Amgen Sales Training Senior Manager, Learning & Performance - Global Sales Capabilities in Thousand Oaks, California

In partnership with the Director of Sales Capabilities, this Sales Training Senior Manager position has responsibility for the creation, customization and delivery of the Global Sales Capabilities curriculum and training materials across all regions (US & Global). This individual will work closely with all levels of sales leadership to enhance the core competencies of Amgen's sales professionals across the globe.

This individual will act as an internal Performance Consultant, partnering with Sales Executives to support the resolution of key business challenges through training interventions and workshops intended to positively impact business outcomes.

The Senior Manager is responsible for onboarding and professional development of Learning Professionals, including needs assessment, facilitation and evaluation of interventions for improving the capabilities of learning professionals.

This role will be responsible for the creation, development and updating of specific content in the sales capabilities framework, working closely with subject experts and external vendors to

ensure high-quality deliverables.

This role is based at Amgen's corporate headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California.

Travel expectations (domestic and global): approximately 25%

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of sales and/or training & development experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of sales and/or training & development experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of sales and/or training & development experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years sales and/or training & development experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of sales and/or training & development experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience, i.e., District Sales Management

  • Results oriented, i.e., track record of exceeding business objectives or sales goals

  • Experience in and a passion for training and staff development (District / Regional Sales Trainer)

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills

  • Excellent analytical and business acumen skills

  • Strong planning and organizational skills

  • Ability to work well in teams and collaborate with others

  • Proactive problem solving/decision making

  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment

  • Strong coaching/feedback skills
