Amgen Marketing Senior Manager - Account Strategy, Oncology Biosimilars US Marketing in Thousand Oaks, California

The Marketing Senior Manager of Account Strategy will report to the Oncology Biosimilars Brand Director. In order to prepare for the highly anticipated launch of Amgen's oncology Biosimilars, the Senior Manager's responsibilities will include leading the cross functional process for development and execution of the US account facing strategy for all oncology Biosimilars brands. Key activities in this role will be the coordination of Business Analysis & Information (BAI) and Trade, Pricing & Contract Management (TPCM) to develop the account targeting and contract strategy. They will assist in developing/delivering executive updates such as launch readiness reviews and long-range plans.

Responsibilities include:

Managing the development and implementation of a wide range of both personal and non-personal promotional marketing activities for the Biosimilars Brand Team.

Building key customer relationships, and coordinating the planning and execution of marketing programs and tactics for all key stakeholders focusing on large clinics, hospitals and IDNs.

Coordinating semester sales meeting planning, content development and delivery.

Planning and execution of biosimilars marketing materials at conferences, including Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) conferences.

Collaborating with the US Medical, BAI, Finance and other cross-functional partners.

Managing with advertising agency and other vendors the execution of marketing projects and programs.

Collaborating with BAI to analyze customer data by segment, developing a strategic plan, and implementing with the sales force.

Working with TPCM and GPO National Account Management (NAM) team to analyze market dynamics, develop contracting strategy and partner with field force on execution performance assessment.

Implementing effectiveness measurement programs for both personal and non-personal promotions initiatives.

Analyzing competitor performance/strategy, including product utilization, promotional messaging, and reimbursement/contracting.

Working on Oncology Biosimilars launch preparedness plan development and tracking.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and (2 years of Marketing and/or Sales Management experience) OR (2 years of Marketing and/or Sales including 1 year of Marketing experience)


Master's degree and (4 years of Marketing and/or Sales Management experience) OR (4 years of Marketing and/or Sales including 2 years of Marketing experience)


Bachelor's degree and (6 years of Marketing and/or Sales Management experience) OR (6 years of Marketing and/or Sales including 3 years of Marketing experience)


Associate's degree and (10 years of Marketing and/or Sales Management experience) OR (10 years of Marketing and/or Sales including 5 years of Marketing experience)


High school diploma / GEDsa and (12 years of Marketing and/or Sales Management experience) OR (12 years of Marketing and/or Sales including 6 years of Marketing experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA in business or health sciences or additional education in biology, chemistry, life sciences

Exemplary cross-functional/ team leadership and collaboration

6+ years of oncology marketing and/or sales related experience including developing and executing sales and or marketing programs

Deep understanding of the oncology landscape (segments, contracting, payers)

Account Management experience managing large clinics/hospitals, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and GPOs

Experience in consulting, marketing, strategic planning and/or sales

Experience in highly competitive markets, including biosimilars and/or generics

Experience in oncology and/or buy-and-bill products

Experience with pricing and contract development/execution

Successful track record of operating and responding in a competitive, nimble, fast-changing market dynamic

Experience and understanding of health care delivery systems in oncology population

Knowledge of oncology, especially metastatic colorectal cancer and/or breast cancer

Track record of increasing responsibility within marketing/ sales

Successful product launch experience

Proven ability to analyze a business problem, develop an appropriate strategy, implement effective tactics, and measure results where appropriate.

Proven strong project management skills, as well as demonstrated analytical, problem solving, negotiation, and consensus-building skills.

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
