Amgen In house Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomic Specialist in Thousand Oaks, California

The responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Leading the development of the HOPE Strategic Engagement Plan (SEP) across the entire Amgen portfolio

  • Lead and participate in cross-functional team efforts with US & Global Medical Teams, TA RMLs, Medical Communications, Marketing, and Commercial Value and Access teams

  • Partnering with medical to ensure robust medical strategies to support access and appropriate value and access representation in the local product strategy

  • Leading field input for evidence generation plans

  • Leading the collection and communication of customer insights

  • Leading field input for creation of innovative real-world data tools

  • Lead field input team to drive training strategies and obtain resources in collaboration GTK and MVAC team

  • Conduct briefings for senior management

  • Ensuring that we are proactively collaborating with key internal partners (e.g., USMLs, US Medical Teams, TA Medical Communication, TA RMLs, GHE, CfOR, RAV Teams)

  • Working with legal, regulatory, and compliance to ensure team is meeting all compliance and reporting requirements

  • Assist in determining and establishing organizational structures and supervisory relationships to transform Amgen to more effectively engage customers

  • Leading the development of meaningful metrics

  • May lead administrative departmental activities such as budgets, resources, and staffing needs

  • May assist in the customization of the US MV&A website to ensure ready access to resources

  • Oversee and conduct projects with vendors

  • Approximately 10% travel

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of clinical experience


Master's degree and 6 years of clinical experience


Bachelor's degree and 8 years of clinical experience


Associate's degree and 10 years of clinical experience


High school diploma / GED and 12 years of clinical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pharmaceutical industry and payer experience

  • Experience in medical communications

  • Field medical experience

  • HEOR/pharmacoeconomics experience

  • Successful track record of operating and responding to a competitive and fast-changing marketplace

  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork in a cross-functional team

  • Proven ability to analyze a problem, develop an appropriate strategy, implement effective tactics, and measure results where appropriate

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Skilled presenter
