Amgen Finance Sr Manager in Thousand Oaks, California
Amgen is seeking a Sr. Manager Finance who will play a key role in the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This position is responsible for financial, analytical and budget support and providing operational thought leadership and fiscal accountability. This position reports to the Director of Finance.
Financial planning and tracking of operating expenses, headcount reporting, supporting the monthly close, Latest Estimate process, and annual budgeting to ensure that overall budgets are realistically set and attained.
Providing direction to clients on key corporate financial policies such as Sarbanes-Oxley and departmental policies to ensure proper GAAP treatment of functional expenses.
On an as needed basis, participating on high priority valuation or corporate development projects including analyses of investment decisions at the Portfolio Governance Board, and Deal Review Committee. Projects may also include analyses for M&A and licensing decisions.
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities, create partnership opportunities and execute short and long-term organizational goals and objectives.
The role may also represent the department or Amgen as a primary internal and external contact.
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Finance/Accounting experience
Master's degree and 6 years of Finance/Accounting experience
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Finance/Accounting] experience
Associate's degree and 10 years of Finance/Accounting experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Finance/Accounting experience
2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
MBA and/or CPA 6 or more years of progressive finance / accounting experience including corporate level public company experience.
Detail oriented; strong business analytical skills.
Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence personnel across functions and levels.

Ability to think strategically.
Relevant functional financial planning experience in other operational areas
Ability to understand and apply various principles and possess a deep knowledge of Amgen processes to solve a wide range of challenges
