Amgen Director, Marketing Strategy, US Repatha in Thousand Oaks, California

The Marketing Strategy Director will serve as the lead for identification, analysis and recommendations related to key business questions facing the brand. He/she will be responsible for preparing for decision making meetings with senior leadership. He/she will work with the cross functional team to embed a culture of strategic thinking into the team and will align the team around strategic decisions, once they are made. The Director will lead the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure brand success at the strategic and tactical levels. The Director will serve as the primary point in collaborating with Business Analytics & Information and Finance to develop the annual Long Range Plan (LRP), Latest Estimate (LE) forecasts and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR). The Director will also serve as the lead for operational management of the budget spend for US Repatha.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and provide point of view on key business questions to brand leadership

  • Develop and champion LPS process

  • Develop and track strategic/financial/tactical KPIs

  • Lead LRP, LE/forecast, quarterly business review (QBR) processes

  • Coordinate with partners across the Bone & Cardiovascular Business Unit including cross-functional partners

  • Provide budget management

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing, strategy, or consulting experience

OR

  • Master's degree and 7 years of marketing, strategy, or consulting experience

OR

  • Bachelor's degree and 9 years of marketing, strategy, or consulting experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA in business or health sciences

  • Consulting experience

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience with focus on marketing and/or sales

  • Experience in marketing, strategic planning and/or sales

  • Experience in cardiovascular market

  • Experience with pricing and contracting

  • Successful track record of operating and responding in a competitive, nimble, fast-changing market dynamic

  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork in a cross-functional team

  • Proven ability to analyze a business problem, develop an appropriate strategy, implement effective tactics, and measure results where appropriate

  • Proven strong project management skills, as well as demonstrated analytical, problem solving, negotiation, and consensus-building skills

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Skilled presenter with experience presenting tactical marketing/sales programs to large groups
