Amgen Data Strategy and Governance Sr Mgr in Thousand Oaks, California
The Senior Manager, Data Strategy and Governance works with the U.S. Commercial Director of Data Strategy and stakeholders to manage a comprehensive U.S. Commercial Data Strategy and Governance program to ensure centralized data acquisition, intake, issue resolution, oversight, and governance across all U.S. Commercial cross-functional areas and systems.
This business facing (non technical) role will collaborate across key functions within U.S. Commercial (i.e. Sales, Marketing, Managed Markets, Commercial Strategy & Analytics, Incentive Compensation, CCOE, Value & Access, etc.) as well as other key corporate functions including but not limited to: IS, Compliance, HR and Procurement (GSS), to ensure end-to-end data intake, planning, delivery, and performance management.
Job Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Manages the acquisition of all data assets data for U.S. Commercial Organization, including ongoing ad-hoc process management/change requests
Facilitates the USBO Data Owners Governance team, charged with ongoing management of data assets across U.S. Commercial
Executes the data purchasing policy in partnership with Senior Leadership Team
Manages the enhancements and updates of the U.S. Commercial Data repository, which will maintain an up to date inventory of all data assets and relevant information about how to leverage and access the data
Acts as the Data SME for commercial stakeholders on existing data assets and how they can be leveraged for analysis/insight generation; advises on differences in data
Performs program management of large data acquisition projects, including supporting product launches
Defines and implements the Communications, Change Management, and Training plan across US Commercial to support data strategy and optimizes usage of data assets
Partners with the key stakeholders, including the Data Integration team, IS, and CCOE to perform impact analysis and project management of new data requests or changes
Serves as liaison between U.S. Commercial Sales & Marketing teams. Commercial Strategy and Analytics, vendors, IS, Market Research, and other U.S. Commercial functions on data related issues
Ensures requests for data are fulfilled efficiently and effectively to meet Commercial data needs
Manages and enhances the end to end process for the intake, planning, delivery, UAT, and performance of data assets needs
Implements and enforces data access and governance policies and procedures
Performs vendor management for data suppliers/vendors, and POs/SOWs/SLAs
Monitors, tracks, and reports on budget management and adherence
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of project management and/or analytics experience
- Master's degree and 4 years of project management and/or analytics experience
- Bachelor's degree and 6 years of project management and/or analytics experience
- Associate's degree and 10 years of project management and/or analytics experience
- High school diploma / GED and 12 years of project management and/or analytics experience
5+ years of project or data management related experience, ideally gained in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare organizations
Deep knowledge, understanding and ability to interpret and analyze data, information systems, and its applications including but not limited to sales, customer, patient, plan/payer, claims, etc.
Experience in working with key functional areas within U.S. Commercial (i.e. Sales, Marketing, Managed Markets, BAI, Incentive Compensation, CCOE, Value & Access, etc.)
Deep understanding of pharmaceutical data sources and how they are used, including but not limited to sales, customer, patient, plan/payer, claims, etc.
Solid business acumen and maturity
Strong communication and project management skills
Excellent diplomacy and facilitation skills; ability to influence without authority.
Experience analyzing commercial data, analytics, and reports
Has performed the functions in the role listed above
Ability to work successfully cross-functionally and lead large cross functional teams and budgets
