Amgen Senior Associate - Vendor Master Data in Tampa, Florida

This Source to Pay Senior Associate will be part of Amgen's Global Source to Pay Operations organization within Global Business Services. The Senior Associate is responsible for partnering with the Procure to Pay Process Owners, Regional Contract to Pay service owners, Global Strategic Sourcing and other functions to ensure Amgen is meeting and exceeding agreed upon service levels and facilitating implementation of continuous improvement projects. The Senior Associate reports to the Source to Pay Operations lead, and will work out of the Amgen Capability Center located in Tampa, Florida.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provides day-to-day management of and instruction to BPO team responsible for executing level one vendor master data management activities

  • Resolves vendor master-related escalations that arise from both the retained and BPO Source To Pay teams as well as the business

  • Ensures that the vendor master process and execution of it remain compliant with the vendor master procedure

  • Ensures that vendor master data standards and structure are adhered to and continuously monitored

  • Manages the technical maintenance and development of the supplier onboarding and change request web form

  • Supports vendor master-related internal and external audit requests

  • Conducts dormant vendor exercise to identify vendor accounts that should be disabled from active Source To Pay use

  • Uses risk monitoring tools - like TIN matching and OFAC checks - to risk assess the viability of suppliers for Amgen to do business with

  • Runs ad hoc reporting requests on Vendor Master Data

  • Monitor and resolves second level validation issues and escalations and updates vendor records daily to add or remove payment blocks

  • Provides vendor master process-related training to BPO and end users when needed

  • Ensures that vendor master-related work instructions are up-to-date and correct

  • Assists with vendor master-related finance integration efforts to put new affiliates on Amgen Source To Pay systems and processes

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree


Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Finance experience


Associate's degree and 6 years of Finance experience


High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 or more years' experience in Procure to Pay processes / Vendor Master

  • Experience in maintaining and updating project management documentation

  • Good data-driven analytical skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems

  • Ability to take initiative and work within an autonomous environment.
