The HVAC-Plant Utilities Sr Engineer is overall responsible as a System Owner for site wide utilities such as HVAC , Fire Protection System , API Utilities, Clean Utilities & Plant Utilities as well as the Reliability Program as part of the Facilities and Engineering Team.

The Sr Engineer will provide advance technical support to complex engineering issues for equipment and processes assigned. Experience in design, qualification, operation, maintenance and improvement of HVAC, Fire Protection and Clean/Plant Utilities equipment will be required to support day to day manufacturing activities. As part of this role the Sr Engineer will have two Engineers as direct reports that will have direct responsibilities for several of the equipment's in this scope. This role is crucial for Amgen's success and it will be a key contributor in the ASM site.

SPECIFIC RESPOSABILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

General:

  • HVAC - Fire Protection System OwnershipAs the Subject Matter Expert (SME), provides technical support to the site on technical issue related to Utilities Equipment systemResponsible for system operation and reliability.Applies advanced and diverse engineering principles to the design and implementation of major system modifications, process and/or capital projects.Develops, organizes, analyses and presents interpretation of results for operational issues or engineering projects of significant scope and complexityLead Non-conformance investigation and ensure Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) is in place to prevent recurrence of similar incident.Own Change controls associate with GMP Utilities system. Review and approve Work orders routed through the Maximo SystemWork with QA and system owners to address and close work order issues.Strong experience in HEPA certification practices.

  • Plan Utilities / Clean Utilities / API UtilitiesManage a team of two Engineers which will have direct ownership of this systems.Drive the Continuous improvement of Utilities system operating, maintenance and reliability program. Deploy predictive technology to improve asset performance.

  • Site Utilities LeadEstablish metrics that ensure optimal utility operational performance.Represent site on Global Network Water Committee and Critical Utilities Committee. Share and implement best practices across the network.Spokesperson for utilities system during auditSupport the implementation of the F&E Transformation as owner of the key initiatives. E.g. Lean Flow practices, Functional goals.Work with QA and system owners to address and close work order issues.Is a champion for safe working practices and safety initiatives within their functional area.

  • Reliability Program LeadDrive the continuous improvement of Utilities system operating, maintenance and reliability program. Deploy predictive technology to improve asset performance.Involved in problem solving and troubleshooting with a focus on the use of Right First-Time tools, including initiation and documentation of investigations.Lead the Sr Engineering team in the execution of several Reliability Practices such as:System Performance ReviewsPM OptimizationOperator Asset CareSpare Parts Optimization

  • Design - Project Engineering:Commissioning and qualification experience in activities such as FAT, SAT's, automation checkouts, IQ-OQ-PQ and spare parts definition. Work with project managers to complete design and engineering projects within schedule, budget and quality constraints. Participate in the system walk down, ensure the closing of punch items and support the takeover of the systems from the Project teamInterface with Commissioning team to support the commissioning of all Utilities system.

Basic Education & Experience

  • Master's degree in Engineering & 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical company or GMP environmentOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering & 6 years of experience in a pharmaceutical company or GMP environmentOR

  • Undergraduate diploma in Engineering & 8 years of experience in a pharmaceutical company or GMP environment Preferred Qualifications

  • Has detailed operational and engineering knowledge of mechanical utility equipment with a focus on reliability and optimization as well as an understanding of how various system operate and integrate with each other.

  • Has specific experience of HVAC-Utilities design, operation and maintenance.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build teams and operate across functional boundaries, both internal and external.

  • Demonstrated Skills in the following areas:

  • Computer Literacy (Maximo, Track wise, E-Builder, PCS, BMS and QEMS).
