Amgen IS Manager - Data Strategy and Management in Shanghai, China

The primary responsibility of this position will be to provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to shape and manage the all the data related services in China. This role requires strong data management, reporting and governance experience with pharmaceutical business knowledge along with technical aptitude in defining and implementing Data Management and Analytical solutions. The role is responsible for the following activities:

  • Lead the China data platform design and deployment, including MDM, Dashboard and operational reports delivery by working with global, regional and local partners.

  • Shape the next generation data operating model supporting China across functions like commercial, medical, supply chain and compliance etc

  • Drive organizational change and influence staff and stakeholders, with the target to uplift the data analytics skills and transform China into a Data Driven culture organization

  • Interprets potential organizational impacts of trends, strategies and events to anticipate key stakeholder needs

  • In collaboration with business stakeholders design, deliver and maintain multi-year portfolio capability and technology roadmaps in data and analytics

  • Partner with Functional Leads to define and manage data and analytics needs, technology platform and service portfolio delivery.

  • Partner with business clients to manage 'Build' and 'Run' service portfolio, service level agreements, provide service KPIs and ensure ongoing application stability.

  • Direct the IS team and vendors in the delivery of data management services and solutions that align with the regional multi-channel capabilities.

  • Create appropriate standards, processes and tools to promote and facilitate a consistent approach for the acquisition of data sources focusing on the integrity and security of all data sources.

  • Keep track of industry and technology trends, connect and foster external networking opportunities to deliver valuable insight from other similar professionals in our industry.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with 6 years data management experience OR Bachelor's degree with 8 years of data management experience.

  • Knowledge of the Master Data Management (MDM), Reporting and Multi-channel domain and business functions - processes, tools, standards, artifacts and systems.

  • Good understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts, familiarity of analytics and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)

  • Experience working in the commercial area in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology/Biomedical devices/Healthcare Industries are preferred.

  • Proven record to work in a highly matrixed, dynamic and challenging business environment with little supervision.

  • Experience implementing Big Data and Cloud based solutions.

  • Experience with all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and use of agile methodology.

  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal, written communication & presentation skills.

  • Excellent executive level influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with key business partners, IT leadership teams, and external service providers.
