Packaging Engineering Lead

At Amgen Breda, medicines are assembled, labeled, packed stored, and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people from 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing, and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.

What you will do

As a Packaging Engineering Lead you will lead all packaging engineering activities for EU/ TMEA contract manufacturers, both for NPIs and LCM, and oversee the hiring and management of FTE/EW staff.

Together with the global packaging team, you will drive the organization's sustainability agenda by developing, implementing, and maintaining an aligned secondary packaging roadmap for environmental sustainability.

Additionally, you will serve as a global packaging regulatory liaison, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

In this vital role, you will :

• Be a direct line manager for staff and/or external workers;

• Hire, coach, and train staff within the ABR/ADL packaging team;

• Develop a multi-year sustainability roadmap for secondary packaging;

• Ensure corporate and manufacturing site management alignment of secondary packaging sustainability projects (all sites, all markets);

• Ensure adequate staffing, planning, and execution of secondary packaging sustainability projects;

• Provide global support for small molecule packaging (primary and secondary packaging);

• Ensure Amgen remains up-to-date on the latest scientific and industry developments in the area of small molecule packaging;

• Ensure adequate staffing of the contract manufacturing packaging projects;

• Ensure on-time delivery of the packaging engineering scope;

• Act as the EU single point of contact for the contract manufacturing team for packaging engineering (primary and secondary packaging);

• Secondary packaging strategy for Russia & Flextronics

• PhD or Master’s degree or BA/BS/BSc;

• Previous experience in the Pharma Packaging Industry;

• Previous in Pharmaceutical Packaging Development;

• Experience in a leadership role;

• Experience with a track record in defining multi-year roadmaps;

• Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
